No more bailouts for the credit card companies

By Joe Sellers

With the way the economy is right now more Americans are finding themselves in situations that they are not use to. We are having to make a decision between paying our debts or keeping a roof over our families head and food on the table. Truthfully it is that hard of a decision but there has to be another way to make dealing with our credit card debts more manageable.

It seems like the harder you try to take the responsibility and pay off your credit cards the credit card companies keep raising the interest rates and making it very difficult to pay the monthly minimum payments. If I am not mistaken we just helped to bail them out with Billions of our hard earned money for what, so they can make sure to put us further in debt. Why is it okay to take our money and then turn around and tell us sorry but we can raise your interest and cut your limits if we feel like it.

I speak with people everyday who are not asking to walk away from the credit card payments; they are only asking that the credit card companies work with them, so that they can pay off their balances. It has become a nightmare for so many people, that they just want to throw in the towel and leave it all behind.

There are people like Dave Ramsey who will tell people to call your credit card company and tell them you want them to lower your interest and they will do it, just like that. Now this may work for some people but most of the people I speak with were told sorry but we are not going to be able to lower your interest or help you out in any way.

The credit card companies want to try to be able to charge even more then 31.99% and have been talking about adding a $10.00 charge on top of the monthly interest rates for all of their card holders. It does not ever seem like it is going to end and now the banks want to get billions of dollars more added to what they have already received in the bailouts.

Since they are able to charge us interest on what we owe them, wouldn't it be great if we could charge them 30% interest and it will be paid back only to the tax payers each month. Of course that would not happen. I wrote a letter to the credit card companies last month telling them how great they are and we as the little people owe them our thanks for all they have done. You can read it at dealing with your debt and you can add something to it.

How many of you are in this same situation with the credit card companies cutting your credit lines and raising your interest rates. If you want to see what other options you have available other than filing Bankruptcy and want to be able to save thousands of dollars off what you owe, then a credit card debt settlement program may be the answer for you. Don't you think it is time you started putting your hard earned money back in your pocket for a change.
